If you want to edit ulimit variables that return with the ulimit -a command:<\/p>\n
You can do it temporarily from the command line with the ulimit command, but to make it permanent, you have to put the change in \/etc\/security\/limits.conf. The difficulty is determining the correct format. For pending signals, for example, I couldn’t find an example.<\/p>\n
It works for me when I add this:<\/p>\n
* soft sigpending 2103295
\n* hard sigpending 2103295<\/p>\n
I then logout and back in and test with the ulimit command:<\/p>\n
[root@ridus357 ~]# ulimit -a |grep sig
\npending signals (-i) 2103295<\/p>\n
Since they are not easy to find, I am listing them here:<\/p>\n
core – limits the core file size (KB)
\ndata – max data size (KB)
\nfsize – maximum filesize (KB)
\nmemlock – max locked-in-memory address space (KB)
\nnofile – max number of open files
\nrss – max resident set size (KB)
\nstack – max stack size (KB)
\ncpu – max CPU time (MIN)
\nnproc – max number of processes
\nas – address space limit (KB)
\nmaxlogins – max number of logins for this user
\nmaxsyslogins – max number of logins on the system
\npriority – the priority to run user process with
\nlocks – max number of file locks the user can hold
\nsigpending – max number of pending signals
\nmsgqueue – max memory used by POSIX message queues (bytes)
\nnice – max nice priority allowed to raise to values: [-20, 19]
